Impulse presents the inaugural participants of its Performance Lab Residency Program. After 40 hours of exploration and studio time, these three interdisciplinary companies will share their latest works-in-development at 8 PM on August 3rd, 2019.

As a summer performing arts residency program, the Performance Lab offers new interdisciplinary and/or alternative performance works space, time, and an honorarium to experiment and develop in a process driven environment.

known across North America for their whimsical full-mask, silent, physical theatre performances, create work that has been compared to watching a living cartoon. Kate Braidwood and Andrew Phoenix, the dynamic duo behind the magical masks that give the company its name, will present their work on their full-face mask version of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

and IMPULSE THEATRE
presenting how to pull your heart out through your throat, an exciting and visceral “how-to” guide. Starting with three creatures in a vat of tar digging into their own deep reaches of vulnerability, and expands to explore questions of identity, self-creation, and the need to be seen authentically.
