tony adamsensembleTony is a creator, writer, and performer originally from Ottawa. He is the co-artistic director for Hymns in Hearse Theatre and May Can Theatre. Notable pieces include: pachiv! and GARY with Hymns in Hearse, and through May Can: Wolves>Boys, The Tragicall Historie Of Nick Wade (and Other Fuck-ups), It’s About Our Goldfish, and Happiness™ which was presented as part of the Wildside Festival in Montreal, the rEvolver festival in Vancouver, followed by a cross Canada Fringe tour. Currently Tony has formed, NickelPumpernickel, with local improviser Monica Ogden. They are currently developing a new piece, LUB DUB, to tour this summer.

Andrew barrettdirectorAndrew is a multidisciplinary theatre artist based in Victoria, BC. He is a director, performer, teacher, administrator, and creator. He is the Artistic Director of Impulse Theatre, which he founded in 2010, has BFA in Theatre from the University of Victoria, and received contemporary dance training through the VSCDance since 2010. He is a Front of House Manager for Intrepid Theatre, Administrative Assistant for Atomic Vaudeville, and Communications Coordinator for Theatre SKAM.
He has received support from the BC Arts Council and has pursued national training through Volcano Theatre’s Conservatory and One Yellow Rabbit’s Summer Lab Intensive. Next up, he is directing Holly Brinkman’s A Woman’s Guide to Peeing Outside at the Montreal Fringe and is developing a new Impulse work with Tony Adams. |
randi edmundsonensembleRandi Edmundson is a Vancouver based actor, puppeteer, and theatre creator. Over the years, she has been involved with several Impulse Theatre creations, including Threadless, The Path, Three, and Wolf in the Mirror (puppet design). She is thrilled to be back, diving into the wild world of dreams. Other favourite credits include I Have Seen Beautiful Jim Key (Intrepid Theatre), Runaway (Theatre SKAM), James and the Giant Peach and A Lovely Sunday (Chemainus Theatre Festival), and The House at Pooh Corner (Western Canada Theatre). Up next, Randi will be on tour with Project X Theatre’s Munsch Upon a Time.

kathleen greenfieldensembleKathleen Greenfield is dedicated to the development of new work. Her interests are in site-specific-outdoor performance, puppetry and folk stories. She is Co-Artistic Director of SNAFU Dance Theatre and teaches play building to kids at Kate Rubin Theatre @SKAM Studios. She has directed the premiere productions of many new works including Little Orange Man (SNAFU),Kitt & Jane (SNAFU), and I Have Seen Beautiful Jim Key (Intrepid Theatre). In 2013, Kathleen joined the artistic team at William Head Prison as a facilitator/performer for Time Waits for No One (2014) and HERE (2015). She directed/devised Sleeping Giants (2016) at William Head.

jess amy sheadensembleJess is thrilled to be back with Impulse Theatre! She was most recently seen as Wendla in Spring Awakening, directed by Chris Lam, Buffoona in Holy Mo! A Christmas Show at Pacific Theatre, as Max in Theatre SKAM's Shop Talk, directed by Chelsea Haberlin, and as many puppets in Freddie in the Neighbourhood with Randi Edmunson and the Little Onion Puppet Company. During her 2015-2016 Apprenticeship with Pacific Theatre, she was seen in The Drowning Girls directed by Ulla Laidlaw, Wit directed by Angela Konrad, and Any Night directed by Julia Siedlanowska. Other past credits include: Marcy in Dogfight directed by Chris Lam, the workshop production of This Little Light at the Belfry Theatre, Runaway with Theatre SKAM, Sherlock Holmes and the Case of The Christmas Carol and Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story with the Chemainus Theatre Festival, and Blackbird with Theatre Inconnu. jessamyshead.com.

carolyn moonsound designer and head technicianCarolyn Moon is a local technical designer and technician. She is a recent graduate of the University of Victoria theatre program. Favourite credits include direction and writing for The Quiet Environmentalist (Victoria Fringe); sound design for Shop Talk (Theatre SKAM) and Wild Honey (Phoenix Theatre UVic). Carolyn is excited for the opportunity to work with Impulse again, after performing in their untitled project for Peek Show, and being the technician for the most recent the dream collector(s) workshop.

IMPULSE THEATRETHE COMPANYImpulse Theatre has created over 15 new theatrical works that have earnestly dealt with contemporary mythology. Impulse’s art sits in-between disciplines, finding ways to synthesize theatre, dance, and design.
Impulse has presented work regionally and nationally, engaging various audiences and communities. In Victoria, Impulse has presented through the Belfry Theatre’s SPARK Festival (The Holy Me 2015), Intrepid Theatre’s YOU Show series (WRATH 2011 an The Hunt 2016) and Uno Fest (SHATTERED 2013 and ana 2016), Victoria Fringe Festival, Theatre SKAM’s Bike Ride, and Bounce Performance Works. Impulse has also toured work to Vancouver such as FALLOW#theselfieproject to the Firehall Arts Centre’s BC Buds Festival in 2015, and the visually stunning SHATTERED to upintheair Theatre’s rEvolver Theatre Festival in May 2014, and the Vancouver Fringe Festival in 2013. This past year, Impulse premiered it’s solo work, ana. The project finished it's three year development at the nationally-acclaimed Videofag before its world premiere at Intrepid Theatre's Uno Festival. Impulse continued the development of it’s full-length work, the dream collector(s).. The company founded a new showcase dedicated to presenting works-in-development, PEEK-SHOW, and continues to look at further methods of empowering and developing multidisciplinary artists within the region. |
