GENERAL INFORMATION
AudiencesImpulse is committed to continuing to grow our accessibility measures for audiences. Some forms of access support that we have previously provided included: access to content and sensory notes, venue information, use of headphones or ear plugs, and free or flexible ticket pricing.
ARTISTS
Impulse strives to ensure that artists have an accessible working environment. Previous access supports and systems have included accessible and inclusive creation and rehearsal processes, creating working schedules that include breaks and timing that is supportive of artists’ needs, stim kits within the rehearsal space, providing multiple modalities of application for projects, and sharing clear information regarding project needs and expectations prior to auditions and applications.

accessibilityImpulse Theatre seeks to create an anti-oppressive and anti-discriminatory space for all arts workers. We aim to have relevant access options available for artists, audiences, and participants. Specific access information for each program or performance is provided in advance of each event.
For more information about specific accessibility needs, please contact us at info@impulsetheatre.ca. SCENT-REDUCED SPACE POLICY
As some attendees experience severe scent sensitivities we ask that individuals attend these events as scent free as possible. This means where possible no perfumes, colognes, hairspray, scented creams and deodorants, or essential oils. |

Access supports at Peek Fest have previously included ASL interpretation, closed captioning, childcare, chill zones, venue information, a workshop access program, and more, depending on current community needs.

Interdependence: access, inclusion, diversity, equitY
Impulse’s approach to access, inclusion, diversity and equity is grounded in our value of interdependence. We live in relationship to other people, places, and beings, and depend on each other to not only survive, but thrive.
The ideas of accessibility and inclusion are integrated into our artistic intent, mandate, and company culture. Impulse embraces the social model of disability, believing that there are many ways our society is currently built that limits who and how one is able to participate. We design our programs and workplace culture with the intent to increase access (remove barriers to getting people into the room) and inclusion (empower and cultivate feeling of being recognized) on a per-individual basis. We believe in this principle of Inclusive design: by designing for the margins, everybody benefits
