COMMUNICABLE DISEASE Prevention PLAn
As per WorkSafeBC: “A communicable disease is an illness caused by an infectious agent or its toxic product that can be transmitted in a workplace from one person to another. Examples of communicable disease that may circulate in a workplace include COVID-19, norovirus, and seasonal influenza.”
Impulse Theatre has instigated this plan to minimize the spread of communicable disease and to ensure that artists & audience members can continue to participate in live theatre with clear safety precautions and measurable disease prevention methods in place.
All individuals are encouraged to access their agency in making a choice that is best suited to their health. All Impulse Theatre staff and board are fully vaccinated.

Key Points of our Communicable Disease Prevention Plan:
- Participants are strongly encouraged to wear a mask.
- Communication: Impulse encourages open and clear communication from both instructors and
participants. No one should feel they are made to do something that feels unsafe. - Sanitization: all common touch surfaces will be wiped down before & after the event.
- Impulse Theatre encourages all patrons (attendees), contract artists, facilitators, staff and board to self-assess
their ability to be vaccinated. - Impulse Theatre has instigated a communicable disease prevention plan to promote safety for participants and staff, and ensure the continuation of live theatre; however, risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists inherently in public gathering spaces. By attending in person, you voluntarily assume all risks related to possible exposure of COVID-19.
