THE PERFORMANCE LAB RESIDENCY
APPLICATIONS CLOSE OCTOBER 6, 2023
We have one spot available as part of the 2023 Performance Lab Residency Program this year. The Performance Lab program prioritizes interdisciplinary, contemporary dance, and physical or non-traditional theatre practices. The program is intended for projects that have gone through the initial stages of development but have not yet had a full public presentation. The criteria for eligibility is open to discussion - if you feel your project would benefit from this residency but feel it falls slightly outside the criteria, please contextualize within the application. Adjudication is based on synergy with this year's residency mentor, Pam Tzeng. Her experience is in interdisciplinary performance, movement, and anti-oppressive practices. The nature and scope of the mentorship is open to be negotiated/navigated by the artist(s) and Pam Tzeng. Projects will be selected by Peek Fest staff and Pam. Meet Pam: "It’s a joy to join Peek Fest as the 2023 Performance Lab Mentor. My commitment as a mentor is to meet you as you are and to be in service to your development. As a witness and sounding board I will hold space for the multiplicity of your artistic being and the questions that you are bringing into your residency. My approach is spacious, consentful and invites the lens of the body. Below are domains of my practice from which I can make inspired offerings:
