AUDITION CALLImpulse Theatre is seeking 3 to 4 performers to join as collaborators on a five-day workshop of ‘the joy machine’ conducted June 15 to 19, 2022 on Lekwungen Territory.
‘the joy machine’ is a new interdisciplinary piece of dance-theatre performance entrenched in the aesthetics and science of joy. It will be a hybrid of contemporary and somatic dance practices and high theatricality. It is directed/facilitated by Andrew Barrett, with writing by Melissa Taylor and movement score by Andrew Barrett and Matilda Cobanli. The workshop will take place over five days indoors at the Metro Studio, with a public sharing at the culmination of the workshop. The company is looking for performers with a strong base in contemporary dance and/or physical theatre practice, and an interest in non-traditional creation. Performers must have open availability June 15 to 19. Performers will be called for 6 to 8 hours per day. The Performer will be paid a fee of $600. Impulse requires that all personnel are fully vaccinated, and adhere to our Communicable Disease Prevention Plan. |
We are accepting applications from prospective Performers now until May 12th. An outdoor audition will be scheduled for shortlisted applicants during the day on May 14 or 15. If you're interested, please fill out an audition form through the button above. Feel free to email Andrew (andrew@impulsetheatre.ca) with any questions. |
